Q-5.) How Do I know I can trust these collectible buyers?
A-5.) As pickers since 1993, we had always been looking for buyers before we picked an item. As a result, over the years we developed a list of thousands of different collectors. Let's just say, "our black book of collectors we like to deal with". Prior to adding these collectors to our private list, we found that serious buyers would often post ads in several different collector publications. Often the cost of placing a 3 line ad in these publications was $40 to $100, for a week or two. When we decided to build a website that would be a directory of collectible buyers, it was these serious collectors we targeted our promotions to. Later we found many of these buyers to be appraisers, club members, writers (you write about subjects you know), and other experts in their field of collecting. Thus knowing their stuff and willing to pay fair prices. We also know scammers don't like to pay for anything.
While we can not guarantee a buyer will buy your item or at what price, it is these buyers we would contact if we had their collectibles. In addition, if a buyer or seller reports fraud to us, we will assist law enforcement as we can. And after verification, we will remove the buyer or seller's access to the site. Until we live in a perfect world, we recommend using Paypay (they help guarantee the transaction) for your payments, and an escrow service for major purchases.
Q-6.) Would it be better if I just sold my collectibles at an online auction?
A-6.) We have used software that has shown 70% of the items listed in an online auction receive no bids. Much of this is because most people don't write their listings correctly, and therefore buyers don't find their item. Yet you have to pay listing fees, final value and other fees. Not to mention the time to set up and do all your listings. If you have a large collection, this could take hours. Then you have to have the right collector find your items, at the very site of your listing (not everyone buys and sells at the same site), during the exact time your item is listed. Sometimes buyers don't want to wait for an auction to end. Contacting buyers on Mister Find IT can result in sold items within days, if not minutes (without a commission of each sale). While some collectors only want one or two of an item, some collectors will buy an entire collection. At the very least, if you have a rare item that a collector on our site is looking for, invite them to the auction - it could result in some nice auction wars.
